The ads in this campaign for Slim Jim are really weird, and feature a type of humor that is sort of takes an acquired taste to laugh at. The first time I watched one of these "Spicy Side" spots I found it to be too strange and way too out there, but after I watched each one a few more times I felt myself liking them more and more. The idea that some people have a "spicy side" that gets out of control when they're fed a Slim Jim is pretty clever and comical, and makes for a wacky and fun campaign. In a product category like meat snacks you really have to take some risks to create advertising that people will remember.
