BBDO

This ad was made by BBDO's New York office for the Economist. It's interesting how the agency brings to light that most people can recognize a 30+ year old TV slogan better than the names of two recently assassinated and world-famous public leaders. Exposing this ad on a billboard rather than in a magazine or some other form of media really allows it to stand out. The mere size of the ad alone speaks loudly to its viewers and causes a sense of intrigue about who Sulim Yamadayev and Joao Vieira were, and how their assassinations have not been brought to the public sphere in an appropriate manner. It seems as if you can always count on BBDO to produce work that really reaches people and gets the ball rolling on topics that may have been swept under the rug in the past.
