Bartle Bogle Hegarty

The entire "Gamekillers" campaign that BBH created for Axe was hilarious, creative, and wildly successful. The product that they are advertising for is men's deodorant, which falls into a product category that is oftentimes advertised for in the same, simple, and slightly boring way. BBH avoided falling in line with those other dull deodorant ads, and created a series of commercials and print ads that really spoke to their target audience, 18-24 year old men, in a very funny and very clever way. This particular spot featuring "The Mother Hen" is my favorite of the bunch, mainly because the character is so real. Every guy in their early twenties has experienced a situation involving a "mother hen," and I guarantee it did not go well for them. The character is portrayed in such a realistic way that I could not help myself from laughing when I saw this spot for the first time. "We go out as a group, we go home as a group" is a phrase that all college-age guys have heard far too many times, but in the context of this commercial it was absolutely hilarious.
