This spot is part of the "My Life My Card" campaign for American Express and stars world-class surfer Laird Hamilton. The campaign has featured other famous celebrities including Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, and Martin Scorsese among others. This spot has nothing to do with the American Express card directly, but rather it focuses on the lifestyle of a famous card holder. In the ad, Hamilton compares every aspect of his big-wave surfing routine to that of a Mount Everest climber. It's no surprise that Ogilvy & Mather have held the American Express account for so many years after producing so many wonderful campaigns and spots like this.
