This ad for Imperial Beer by Y&R is great. It pokes fun at the major brewing companies in the United States, particularly Anheuser-Busch. The ad points to the fact that this Puerto Rican beer isn't plain and boring like most other beers we are accustomed to in the US, and that they are proud to have been brewing a fine beer in their small, Central-American country for almost 90 years. The art in this ad really stands out as well. It has a very retro feel to it and even looks like it could have been produced in 1924. Good job by Y&R to take a Puerto Rican product and advertise it to Americans in a lively manner that we can all understand and have a good laugh at.
