"Don't be lost in the weird world of investments." That is the tagline for this amazing piece of work by Leo Burnett. They have taken various symbols of the American free trade system and transformed them into a faux-Dali surrealist piece of art. There are so many underlying political messages and symbols in the ad that it is hard to find them all. From the image of a money tree branch growing out of Uncle Sam's nose to the tiny drawing of Osama Bin Laden riding along his back, the imagery and symbolism reach an unprecedented level. It takes a lot of guts for an agency to create an ad with such powerful political undertones, but Leo Burnett rose to the challenge and did so with class. It is not very often that you find an ad that speaks to you louder as art than it does as advertising, but what else would you expect from Leo Burnett?
